I think... what it comes down to is... the unfree world has expectations, and the free person does not. The free person knows there is no such thing as "should."
Seems like a lot of the best stuff is. But it is still good that the concept is there to muse upon, even if we can't quite manage to make it exist in reality.

ReplyDeleteI associate both words with manipulation. As in, the people with the most expectations, who "should" all over me, are also very manipulative.
That makes me kick, too. Hard.
